About Me
Early in life, I discovered my calling to be an educator. Since then, I have enjoyed all the experiences that have come my way. I genuinely love what I do, so I immerse myself in my work with a keen eye to hone my craft and with a heart to empower and encourage others.
As a high school teacher, I learned to blend creativity with compassion, and I saw my students flourish.
As a teacher educator, I explored Csikzentmihalyi's concept of 'flow'. How could teachers find joy and enthusiasm in their work? A focus on incremental improvement to get to one's zone of proximal development was key.
As a researcher, I worked on building processes to structure school improvement projects through kaizen and systems thinking.
In this new enterprise as a Ph.D. student at Niagara University, I treasure the disposition of wonderment for a learner who is excited at the myriad possibilities ahead!
